A high maximum air speed does not automatically make one blower better at every type of clearing.

Cruise control suits longer, more consistent sections. On an open path or lawn where the same airflow is already doing the job, it can hold that setting without constant trigger pressure. Boost has a different role: use it for damp leaves stuck against an edge, a compacted patch or a heavier pile that needs a short increase in force. Once the difficult material begins to move, return to the normal setting.
That gives each control a clear purpose: variable speed for adjustment, cruise control for steady passes and boost for short resistant sections. Maximum output stays available when you need it without becoming the default for the entire clear-up.
