Start with the batteries you already own. Greenworks states that the G40ABII works with any Greenworks 40V battery, so the tool-only version is a straightforward add-on if your existing mower, trimmer or other 40V tool has already put you on the platform.
If you do not have a compatible battery, the buying logic changes. The 193 km/h version supplied with a 2Ah battery and charger gives you the same basic blower format as a ready-to-use kit. That avoids turning a low tool-only price into a second shopping list for power and charging equipment.
There is also a more powerful 210 km/h 40V blower kit with two 2Ah batteries. That model uses a brushless motor and is listed at 2.1 kg, so it should be treated as a different blower and kit decision rather than simply a battery-included version of the G40ABII.
Choose 2.33 kg maneuverability when you do not need vacuuming
The strongest case for this blower is not maximum specification. It is the combination of a simple blower-only format and a listed 2.33 kg weight. That matters when the job involves repeated short passes around a patio, path, small lawn edge or parked car rather than a long session collecting large quantities of leaves.
A blower/vacuum has extra functions, but those functions bring a different handling format. The 40V 280 km/h blower/vacuum is listed at 4 kg and adds vacuum collection, a 45L bag, six speed settings and a 10:1 mulching function. Those features are useful if you actually want to pick leaves up and reduce their volume. They add little value if your normal routine is simply to move dry leaves and grass clippings into a pile for collection by another method.
That is the decision boundary. Choose the blower/vacuum because suction and bagging solve a real part of your cleanup, not because a larger machine automatically represents an upgrade. Choose the lighter blower when easy movement and quick setup matter more than collection.
When 193 km/h is enough
The G40ABII is described by Greenworks for small to medium-sized areas, which fits the way its specification should be read. A maximum air speed of 193.1 km/h is enough for routine loose leaves and garden debris when the goal is regular maintenance rather than attacking every difficult autumn condition with one tool.
Variable speed is useful here because not every surface wants the same airflow. Lower the output around gravel, borders, lightweight mulch or garden furniture where an unnecessarily strong blast can scatter material in the wrong direction. Increase it on open paving or lawn edges when you need to move a broader line of dry debris.
Buying more blower than this can make sense when your regular jobs include heavier leaf fall, wetter compacted material or larger areas that justify higher airflow. But if the typical task is ten minutes of clearing after mowing or tidying a path before leaves build up, extra peak performance may not improve the job enough to outweigh a larger or more complex tool.
The tool-only G40ABII therefore works best as a platform add-on, not as a universal leaf-clearing answer. If you already own a compatible 40V battery, do not need vacuum collection and mainly handle routine small-to-medium garden cleanup, the 193 km/h blower keeps the setup simple. If any of those conditions changes, the battery kit, 210 km/h blower or blower/vacuum becomes the more relevant comparison.
