Both functions can then remain on the same battery platform. The pole saw handles branches above comfortable hand-tool height, while the hedge trimmer covers broader growth along boundaries and taller hedge surfaces. The supplied battery means this work can begin without first adding a separate 24V battery and charger.

Existing equipment can change which package is more practical. If your garden tools already use Greenworks 40V batteries, a saw with pole kit keeps the same type of pruning and hedge work on that platform. This 24V version is more relevant when the supplied 2Ah battery provides the starting point for a POWERALL setup.

Electric Saw on a Pole for Regular Branch Clearance Around the Garden

An electric saw on a pole is useful when branches sit above comfortable handheld cutting height. That can include individual limbs over paths, woody growth around boundaries or branches extending above beds and other areas where direct access to the cutting point is difficult.

The pole-saw function is intended for selective elevated pruning rather than replacing a conventional chainsaw for larger timber on the ground. Reach is the practical difference: the cutting head can be positioned at higher branches while the operator remains below, then the tool can be put aside once the required branch work is complete.

If compatible 24V batteries are already available and another battery is unnecessary, the Gen II electric saw with pole combination is supplied as a tool-only setup. The current 2Ah kit instead suits a garden where the battery needs to arrive with the pruning and hedge-maintenance tools.

Battery Powered Hedge Trimmer Follow-Up for the Same Maintenance Session

The battery powered hedge trimmer function becomes useful after individual branches that need sawing have been removed. The same maintenance session can then move to hedge faces, tops and boundary growth without introducing a separate battery platform.

This works particularly well where woody branches interrupt an otherwise trimmable hedge or boundary. The pole saw can deal with the selective branch work first, leaving the hedge-trimmer function to handle the broader finishing cuts afterwards.

Package requirements can still change the choice. If a 24V Gen II setup with a supplied 4Ah battery better matches the equipment you need, the pole electric saw package provides that battery arrangement. A 40V Gen II cordless pole saw combination instead uses a different platform and is supplied with two 2Ah batteries.

The current 24V 2Ah kit fits most naturally where branch pruning and hedge maintenance are both recurring jobs and compatible battery equipment still needs to be supplied. It keeps the two cutting functions and their 24V power source together in one starting setup.
